The Lady Rangers easily defeat the Lady Coyotes in Tuesday night's game at Ranger Stadium, 11-5. It started off with a great celebration of three wonderful seniors playing their last regular season home game at Chisholm Trail. The game started off with the Lady Rangers falling behind early in the top of the first when a one out triple to right center field eventually came around to score. The Lady Rangers trailed 1-0 until the bottom of the 4th. That is when the fireworks went off for the Chisholm offense and who better to lead things off than senior Sierra Hanes. With one out she was able to draw a walk and courtesy runner Valerie Lomenick advanced to both second and third on wild pitches. The next hitter Shelby Warren tied the game with a base hit to left field. Freshman Lexi White reached on an infield single and freshman Kylie Summers reached on an error by the second baseman which plated Warren and advanced White to third. Summers took second on the next pitch. Following an out, another senior delivered in the clutch for the Lady Rangers. A two out hit by Mariah Gonzales plated both runners and two pitches later she scored on a Victoria Quinn triple to left field. It was quite a day for the seniors as the next hitter, senior cleanup hitter Alex Potts drove home Quinn with a rocket back through the middle. Kendyl Slaboda was able to drive in Potts on a double to center field in which she was nailed at third to end the inning but not before Potts sped past home plate. By the time all the damage was done the score was 7-1 Chisholm. The Lady Rangers were able to tack on 4 more runs in the bottom of the sixth on another rally sparked by a senior, Mariah Gonzales, who led off with a line drive to center. A Quinn single, an error by Wichita, a Slaboda single, a Hanes walk, a Warren hit by pitch and a White single to center all happened before Wichita could record an out. When it was all said and done the Lady Rangers led by the final score of 11-5. Senior, Sierra Hanes pitched a complete game victory scattering nine runners over seven innings while striking out two. She also added a hit and two walks at the plate. Senior, Alex Potts, added a hit, an RBI, two runs scored and errorless defense at third base. Senior, Mariah Gonzales, was 3 for 5 on the night with two runs scored and two RBIs. She also played an errorless defense and made several very nice catches in right field. The Lady Rangers will wrap up their regular season play Friday night in an important game at Boswell for their playoff scenarios. First pitch is set for 6:30pm at Pioneer Stadium.
