The Lady Rangers Fall Short In Bi-District Championship In Hard Fought Game

Girl's Basketball - Thu, Feb. 16, 2017
The Lady Rangers fell to Denton Ryan Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Bi-District Championship after a hard fought game. Ryan, whose team consisted of 10 seniors, came into the Bi-District game undefeated in district play. Chisholm Trail, earned its second straight playoff berth with a very young team. The game consisted of a few early lead changes and numerous runs by both teams. Rebounding, and missed lay-ups were the deciding factor, as the Lady Rangers could not grab key rebounds down the stretch and missed numerous short shots in critical moments.  After tying the game at 30 early in the 3rd, Denton Ryan went on a 6-0 run and never relinquished the lead again.  Chisholm would get as close as 51-47, but could not get over the hump.  The Lady Rangers gave everything they had to give, but came up short 57-50 in a highly contested match.  The Lady Rangers were led by Sarah Alsabbaheen with 16 points, Chante Mathews with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals,  Alysia McAfee with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists, and Aamiyah Davis with 8 points.  The coaching staff and Ranger Nation are extremely proud of these young ladies for the extreme effort they play with and the schools first 20 win season.
