The Chisholm Trail Rangers hosted the annual Ranger Classic where they took 3rd place overall in a very tough tournament.
One of the tougher games was against the Keller Indians on Friday, December 1, 2017. The Rangers played a tough and strong Keller Indian squad falling short, 60-48. The Rangers battled some nerves early as Keller took a quick lead, however Chisholm Trail settled in and found themselves only down three after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Rangers tightened up defensively and got some things going against the always tough Keller zone, as Keller took a 20-19 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, both offenses began to open up as Keller maintained their 1 point lead at 39-38. In the fourth quarter, Chisholm Trail continued to give all they had but, Keller capitalized on on errors by the Rangers. Keller, who went to the foul line ten times in the quarter compared to the one attempt by Chisholm Trail, made the plays late and hit their free throws for the win. The Rangers played with outstanding effort and heart the entire game, battling through adversity against things were out of their control. The Rangers showed that they can play with some of the best teams in the area!
