The Chisholm Trail Rangers took on the Aledo Bearcats at home Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in district 6-5A action. The Rangers came away with a 64-50 victory over the Bearcats increasing their district record to (4-2).
Chisholm Trail got off to a rocky start, but was able to get going late in the first quarter and found themselves down 13-10 after one. The Rangers began to loosen up the Aledo matchup zone in the second quarter and with big shots, took a 27-24 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Chisholm Trail blew the game open by scoring 23 points in the quarter which included several hits from beyond the arc. This, along with tough hard-nosed man to man defense held the Bearcats to 5 points in the quarter leading 51-29 heading to the fourth. In the end, the Rangers were never really threatened by the Bearcats due to timely stops on the defensive end and shooting 14 of 16 from the charity stripe.
