The Chisholm Trail Rangers took on the Wichita Falls Rider Raiders in the Bi-District round of the Texas State Playoffs Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Unfortunately, it was the Raiders who came out on top with a 70-59 victory. The game was a tightly contested the 1st quarter that saw Rider take a slim 14-10 lead. In the second quarter, Chisholm Trail got hot from beyond the arc and battled inside against the much bigger Rider squad and the game was tied at 26 going into halftime. During the third quarter, Rider used their size and inside game to take a 46-33 lead into the fourth, but as they have done all season, Chisholm Trail fought back and made a push in the fourth quarter. In the end, the Rider lead was to much to overcome with the final score ending at 70-59 in Rider's favor.
Even in defeat, this Ranger squad can hold their heads up high. The team had to consistently battle adversity all season long, and proved a lot of people wrong by finishing with a great season, that included 20 wins and a 9-5 finish in a tough district. This teams lack of height was made up for with their incredible heart, grit, and effort. The Chisholm Trail coaching staff is so incredibly proud of this amazing group of kids.
Top performers were; Braelon Taylor had 4 points, Isaiah Holland scored 17 points, Peyton Sallee finished with 24 points, Grant Camps with 1 point, Wyatt Hurst had 5 points, and Myles Sherman scored 8 points.
