David Markley

Head Coach - 10th Season

Coach Markley opened the program in the 2012-2013 season, and saw an 8 win increase with a tournament championship during the 2013-2014 campaign.  The 2014-2015 season was the first time that the Rangers had a senior class.  Prior to his time at Chisholm Trail, Coach Markley spent 4 seasons as the varsity assistant at Colleyville Heritage High School.  During those years at Colleyville Heritage, the basketball program made state playoffs 3 times, including a Regional Quarterfinal appearance as well as three 20 win seasons.  Over those 4 seasons, 6 players went on to play college basketball.

Coach Markley is a graduate of TCU where he was a 4-year letterman for the Men's Basketball program.  He was only the 26th player in the 100 plus year history of the horned frog basketball program to be a 4-year letterman.  Coach Markley was also a 4-time Academic All-Conference athlete (2003-2005 Conference USA, 2006 Mountain West) and won the TCU Basketball Dr. James Cash Academic Award twice during his time at TCU.  One of the highlights of his college career was earning ESPN's play of the day for taking a charge on the road against 10th ranked Louisville.  Coach Markley graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychosocial Kinesiology and a minor in Business.

A native of Grapevine, Texas, Coach Markley graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School where he was an All-District and All-Area player.  He currently teaches Marketing and Business classes at Chisholm Trail High School.  In April 2014, Coach Markley was married to his wife Caitlyn.
