Serving as Head Athletic Trainer in his fifth year at Chisholm Trail High School is Jeffrey Bass. "Doc", as he is known to most athletes and coaching staff, is starting his 37th year as a professional athletic trainer. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Texas Tech University. His background includes working professionally at three different classifications of high schools, three different levels of colleges as well as with professional sports. He is also very involved with the professional service organizations relating to the athletic training profession both at the state and national level and is currently completing his 14th year as the CFO/Treasurer of the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association. SWATA represents the professional athletic trainers from the states of Texas and Arkansas as part of the larger National Athletic Trainers Association. "Doc" has also been the recipient of numerous awards during his career including being selected as an All Star Athletic Trainer for both the Texas Boys and Girls Coaches Associations, received several outstanding service awards at the regional and national level, and was inducted into the SWATA Hall of Fame as its 57th inductee in 2008. "Doc" and his wife Robbie of 36 years, have two grown daughters, and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Mitch Holt and Stephanie Bass. "Doc" was recently selected to work as a medical consultant to the newly piloted Medical Observer program for the Big 12 Football Conference.
